History of the English National Park Authorities Association

ENPAA was established in April 2006. Prior to this, the English National Park Authorities worked through ANPA (Association of National Park Authorities). With devolution, the system for administrating the National Parks in England, Wales and Scotland became more complex.
The 14 National Park Authorities across the UK are keen to continue to work as one family and learn from each others experiences. But devolution has warranted the establishment of ‘country associations’ in England and Wales.
This marked an important stage and will assist in providing a more focused response to Government and other stakeholders. ENPAA was formally launched on European Day of Parks (24 May 2007).
