The MICCI project is where school students become real scientists. Over 50 schools have been out in 11 different National Parks across the UK, studying moorlands to answer this question:

Are upland moorlands storing carbon (good for climate change) or releasing carbon (bad for climate change)?

The results are being used by climate scientists as part of the Moors for Future Partnership, as well as by the schools as part of their curriculum.
