Paralympics 2012: Dave Smith

Sport: Rowing

Dave Smith, 32, is from Aviemore and is a member of the British Paralympic adaptive mixed coxed four (rowing) team. The Paralympics take place in London from August 29, 2012.

Did you know? Dave's rowing four won the world title in Slovenia in 2011.


Craig MacLean

Sport: cycling

Born 1971, Craig represented Team GB at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, winning silver in the team sprint.

He was also in the team for the 2004 Athens Olympics and won gold in the team sprint at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.

Did you know? Cyclist Craig MacLean has the keys to the town of Grantown on Spey and the sports centre, built in 2007, is named after him.

No fewer than 14 stars from an area which is currently home to around 13,500 people have represented their country at the games over the years.
